Alice Betty J. Hendricks

Alice Betty Jane (Eberg) Hendricks, 97, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community, Franklin, IN.

She was born February 8, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN to Harry Eberg and Flava (Botts) Eberg. Betty married Russell Eugene (Gene) Hendricks, Sr., on April 16, 1955 at the Morris Street Methodist Church in Indianapolis; he preceded her in death on August 27, 2003.

Betty was born on February 8, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Harry Eberg and Flava (Botts) Eberg, her husband Russell Eugene (Gene) Hendricks, Sr., brother, H. Richard Eberg (Marilyn), and sister, Barbara Brown (Tom). She is survived by her sister, Debbie (Eberg) Smith (Barry), and two sons, five grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; Son, Russell E Hendricks, Jr., (Cyndi), daughter, Jennifer (Hendricks) Musselman, (Matt), and great-granddaughter, Amelia; Michael Hendricks, (Whitney) and; Son, Rodney K. Hendricks, (Claire), Danielle (Hendricks) Bladecki, (Aaron), Emily (Hendricks) Palin, (Graham), and Austin Hendricks.

Betty and Gene married at Morris Street Methodist Church in Indianapolis on April 16, 1955. They were charter members of Christ United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

Betty enjoyed traveling with her husband Gene and attending many parade events with the Murat Shrine 500 Club. She is well known to all for her love of drawing and sending beautiful Disney character cards to up to 99+ people. Betty loved all animals and they came to see her frequently in her backyard like she was Snow White in the forest. A favorite memory is Betty playing the piano with each of her grandchildren and her great grandchild.

Pastor Greg Pimlott will conduct a service on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/alicebettyjanehendricks.

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2026 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, IN.
