Alice Rose (Barger) Risch, 93, of Franklin, IN passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Altenheim Community in Indianapolis, IN. She was born September 10, 1932 in Martinsville, IN to Allen L. “Doc” Barger and Lena J. (Owens) Barger. Rose married Raymond E. Risch on August 30, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on January 26, 2022.  She was a 1950 graduate of Martinsville High School.

Rose was a devoted and loving homemaker, devoted to her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and the family farming operation. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, the Moonlighters Farmers Club and the Progressive Farmers Club.

Survivors include her children Jerry D. Risch of Franklin, IN, Cathy L. Risch (Brenda) of Indianapolis, IN, Laura A. Williams of Indianapolis, IN and James M. Risch (Allison) of Franklin, IN, five grandchildren Jason Risch (Kelly), Jamie Shaff (Jeremy), Bryan Williams, Parker Williams and Chelsea Tanner, three great grandchildren Hayden Martin, Khaleesi Wilder and Aurora Wilder, her brother Gary Barger (Betty) of Morgantown, IN, sisters Jan Hazelwood (Gene-deceased) of Trafalgar, IN, Mary George (Dean) of Nashville, IN, Judy Porter (Earl) of Franklin, IN and Karen “Joie” David (Danny-deceased) of Seymour, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Merrill “Little Bud” Barger, Owen “Mickey” Barger (Donna), sisters Carol Ann Thompson (Ross-deceased) and Doris Jean Gresham.

A private funeral Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, IN. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, IN 46131.
