Barbara A. (Cook) Bump, 83, of Bedford, IN passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, IN.

She was born October 2, 1939 in Stendale, IN to Naomi (Condict) Cook and Chester Cook.

She was a graduate of Princeton High School.

Barbara had been and administrative assistant for Texas Gas later known as Miller Pipeline from 1985 until 1998.  She had previously been a supervisor for the Princeton Telephone Company for 28 years from 1957 until 1985.

She loved spending time with her friends and family.  She delighted in the achievements of her granddaughters and loved to spend time with them.  Barbara enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, euchre and cooking – she was well known for her bread and butter pickles.  It was her pleasure to plant and can extra to share with others.  She had a caring generous heart, especially if she thought other were in need.  Barbara was loved by many and will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include her daughter Becky E. Booe (Scott) of Trafalgar, IN, her grandchildren Ashley Specker (Jonathan) of Gainsville, FL, Caitlin Booe of Louisville, KY and Abby Booe of Columbus, IN, two sisters Lorene Smith of Richland Center, WI and Oleva Oman of Richland Center, WI, a son-in-law Tim Deckard of Bedford, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Brenda E. Deckard on March 13, 2020 and a longtime friend and companion of 30 years Robert "Bob" Purdy.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Kinser Cemetery, 10 Kinser Cemetery Road in Bedford, IN.
