Bennie June (Bray) Driver, 88 of Greenwood, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Franklin Meadows.
She was born February 2, 1937 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Ben Alexander Bray and Turye Lee (Newman) Bray. Bennie married Clinton Burl Driver on June 3, 1961 in Lafayette, TN; he preceded her in death on June 23, 2013.
She was a 1957 graduate of Macon County High School in Macon County, TN.
Bennie retired after 25 years as an inspector for General Motors Bus and Truck Group in Indianapolis.
She had been a member of Long Fork Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN. Bennie enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking. Bennie especially enjoyed the Christmas holidays and spending time with her family.
Survivors include son Michael C. Driver (Shirley) of Franklin, IN, her daughter Lisa M. Sanchez (Joe) of San Antonio, TX, four grandchildren Candace Rife (Rich) of Houston, TX, Paul Driver (Nikki) of Bargersville, IN, Miranda Sanchez and Samantha Sanchez both of San Antonio, TX, great grandchildren Lola Rife, Henry Rife, Will Rife and Emery Driver, brother Larry Bray of Lafayette, TN and a sister Shelia Dixon of Franklin, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Charles Bray and sister Elsa Clark.
The Reverend Bill Turner will conduct a service on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/benniedriver. Friends may call Monday, January 19, 2026 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
