Betty Litchfield, 91 of Franklin, Indiana and formerly of Jasper, Indiana passed peacefully at the Indiana Masonic Home on December 13, 2022.

The youngest of 4 children, Betty was born on September 4, 1931 to William and Marie (Vogel) Baker of Portersville, Indiana. During her freshman year at Jasper High School she met William (Bill) Litchfield, who would on September 2, 1951 become her husband of 71 years.

After attending Hanover College and in living various locations while Bill completed his Naval service, the couple returned to Jasper.

Betty had a passion for interior design and worked in that field for some time. Eventually the couple went on to start Wood Design Office Furniture in French Lick, Indiana. Betty was one of the driving forces in the design and marketing of Wood Design, which went on to become a prominent office furniture manufacturer and supplier.

Betty was involved with the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper and over many years enjoyed leading Boy and Girl Scout troops. She had a passion for interior design and fashion, and enjoyed sewing, sculpting and painting. Betty also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her husband Bill, her children, and three grandsons George, Sebastian and Zane.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Bill Litchfield who passed in 2020, parents William and Marie (Vogel) Baker , brothers Harvey and Wilfred Baker and her sister Doris (Baker) Wuchner of Jasper, Indiana. Surviving Betty are her son David (Monica) Litchfield, daughter Ann (Evan) Griffith of Jupiter, Florida, three grandchildren George Litchfield, Sebastian Litchfield, and Zane Griffith, and two great-grandchildren Alena and Noah Litchfield.

The family would like to take this moment to extend a special thank you to the extraordinary staff at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana for caring for both Betty and Bill throughout the years.
