Bobby Joe Hansford, 82, of the Mount Auburn Community of Shelby County, Edinburgh, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born October 12, 1942 in Whiteland, IN to Eural "Jody" Hansford and Carrie Mae (Radford) Hansford.  He married Saundra Louise (Pike) Hansford on November 30, 1968 at First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IN, she survives.

Bobby was a lifetime concrete finisher and a concrete block layer.  He was also a carpenter, mechanic in which he has passed those trades onto the next generation.

He was a member of Word of Life Fellowship Christian Church in Shelbyville, IN.

Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife Saundra Louise (Pike) Hansford of Edinburgh, IN, his loving children Dwayne A. Hansford (Sandy) of Shelbyville, IN, Tammy J. Thompson (Grant) of Shelbyville, IN, Theresa L. Brand (Ray) of Shelbyville, IN, Susan M. Esarey (fiancé Richard Oakley-deceased) of Rushville, IN, Stephen P. Hansford (Laura) of Shelbyville, IN, Rebekah M. Hansford of Knightstown, IN, Samuel L. Hansford of Marietta, IN, Rachel L. Brook (Jim) of Marietta, IN, Nathaniel J. Hansford (Beth) of Edinburgh, IN and Joshua A. Hansford (Abby) of Shelbyville, IN, twenty three grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers Joseph Lee Hansford (Loretta-deceased) of Edinburgh, IN and Harold Lee "Butch" Hansford (Jackie) of Shelbyville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pastor Darrell Geralds will conduct a service on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/bobbyhansford.  Friends may call Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Shelby County, IN with Pastor Paul Stevens conducting.
