Brenda Lou (Smith) McKee, 70, of Franklin, IN passed away in the warm shelter of her home in the company of her husband, her daughters and her grandchildren on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

She was born March 2, 1953 in Hazelgreen, Kentucky.

Brenda graduated from Franklin High School in 1972.  During her life, she worked as a medical assistant and an ambulance dispatcher.

Her hobbies included crocheting, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, euchre, puzzles and video games.  She had a fun loving spirit and loved joking with and teasing her grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by  her husband of 32 years, Danny McKee of Franklin, IN, her daughters Wendy Allen (David) and Kathy McKee (Kyleigh)all of Franklin, IN, fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her brothers Clifton Smith (Bonnie) of Anderson, IN, Louie Smith (Debbie) of Fishers, IN, Kenny Smith (Laura) of Noblesville, IN and Milton Smith (Bonnie) of Maryland.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents OE and Mayvline (Stephens) Smith, her sons Richard Ellington and Robert McKee and her grandson Joshua Ellington.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling arrangements.
