Brian Frederick Settles, 66, of Corbin, KY and formerly of Franklin, IN passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026.

He was born March 31, 1960 in Franklin, IN.

Brian was a 1978 graduate of Franklin Community High School

He had been employed by Johnson Controls from 1979 until 1989, later General Motors from 1993 until 2006 and retired as an oil supply boat captain in Louisiana in 2016.

Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and working on old cars.

Survivors include his wife Chasity (Elmore) Settles of Corbin, KY, his children Allen Settles (Jen), Nichole Settles (Chris), Erica Settles, William Fish and Robert Fish, his mother Roberta (White) Cheek, his siblings Betty Frazier (Rick), Doreen Mitchell (Bob), Donna Lanahan (Doug), Kim Lavorno (Scott), Donald Settles Jr. (Illeana), grandchildren Alyssa Weiler, Luna Makela, Tyler Fish, Josiah Fish, Dawsin Fish and Easton Settles.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald William "Bill" Settles, stepfather Wayne Cheek, and grandparents Glenn Settles, Maggie Morris, Fred and Dorothy White.

Pastor Don Smith will conduct a memorial service on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with visitation from 3PM until service time.
