Bruce Allen Larson, 74, of Trafalgar, IN passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
He was born March 24, 1948 in Sandwich, IL to Arland Larson and Sigvarda (Anderson) Larson. He married Adelle F. (Hobby) Larson on September 10, 1977 in La Harpe, IL, she survives.
Bruce was a 1966 graduate of Meredosia - Chambersburg High School in Meredosia, IL. He received his B.A. degree from Sangamon State University now known as the University of Illinois at Springfield.
He had been a caseworker for the State of Illinois from 1984 until his retirement in 2015.
He was a member of the Sons of Norway, enjoyed planting, gardening, flowers and collecting brass and copper. Bruce enjoyed playing practical jokes on friends, family, and co-workers. He had a marvelous sense of humor and enjoyed making people around him laugh.
Bruce was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in Thailand.
Survivors include his wife Adelle F. (Hobby) Larson of Trafalgar, IN, a daughter Rachel A. Stevenson of Trafalgar, IN, a son Erik E. Larson of Columbus, IN, three grandchildren Rya Stevenson, Elaine Stevenson and Jackson Stevenson all of Trafalgar, IN, a sister Karen Huss of Somonauk, IL, nephews Kyle Huss (Vicky) of Leland, IL and Brian Huss (Traci) of Leland, IL, cousins Allen Chrisman (fiancé Lana Kay Lemmon) and Kari Wiley (Tim) both of Kalispell, MT, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arland Larson and Sigvarda (Anderson) Larson, aunt and uncle Allen Baird Chrisman and Esther Chrisman, sisters Nancy McFadden and Linda Hozie.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 230 South Green Street, in Somonauk, IL.
Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
