Connie L. (Strouse) Surface, 76, of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born June 23, 1948 in Zionsville, Indiana to Samuel Augustus Strouse and Kathryn Mae (Bailey) Strouse.  She married Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Surface on October 22, 1966 at Bluff Creek Christian Church in Greenwood, IN; he preceded her in death on August 5, 2019.

Connie was a 1966 graduate of Center Grove High School.  She and her husband Jeff owned and operated Design Masonry for 10 years, where she served as a bookkeeper.  She also had owned and operated Connie's Creations in Bargersville, IN for 10 years.

She enjoyed going to the casinos and playing solitaire.  Connie especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family gatherings.

Survivors include her daughter Jody L. Schoettle (Chris) of Greenwood, IN, her son Robby D. Surface of Greenwood, IN, her grandchildren Benjamin Surface, Daisy Surface, Molly Surface, Enza Schoettle Griffin (Luke), Emily Schoettle Bradley (Greg), Cammie Schoettle Owen (Ayrton) and Logan Schoettle, great-grandchildren Brayden Lowe, Dean Griffin, Aviana Griffin, Lena Griffin, Emma Bradley and Bella Bradley, a brother Thomas Strouse (Florence Henson) of Greenwood, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sisters Jacqueline Tielking Strakis and Patricia Wooten.

Pastor Dustin Hite will conduct a service on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/conniesurface.  Friends may call Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary and Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10AM until service time.  Burial will follow the service at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
