Obituary

Cynthia Lynn (Koehrn) Chambers, 78, of Greenwood, IN passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 9, 1946 in Beech Grove, IN to Edward C. and Barbara Pearl (Pearcy) Koehrn.  Cynthia married William "W.C." Clarence Chambers on September 14, 1984 at Honey Creek Church in Greenwood, IN, he preceded her in death on January 12, 2023.

She was a 1965 graduate of Whiteland Community High School.

Cynthia for over thirty years worked in the bookstore and attendance office at Greenwood Community High School.

She had been a volunteer for the Johnson County Red Cross.  Cynthia was a lifelong member of Honey Creek Church in Greenwood where she had served as the choir director for many years.  She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association.

Cynthia loved spending time with her grandchildren and going out to eat.

Survivors include her children Christopher Gene "Chris" Cummings (Connie) of Franklin, IN, Tommy Chambers (Connie) of Lancaster, KY and Susanna Lynn Selph (Bill) of Greenwood, IN, her grandchildren Caitlin Calvert, McKentzie Houchin, Brandon Williams, Jeremy Chambers, Courtney Turpin (Nick), Brittany Maples, Alex Selph and Tyann Selph, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson Caleb Cummings on November 11, 2009, stepmother Constance Myrtle "Connie" Wagner Koehrn and a brother Edward C. "Buddy" Koehrn II.


Pastor Doug Bohall will conduct a service on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/cynthiachambers.  Visitation will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
