Daniel Dale Matkins, 64, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024.

He was born December 7, 1959 in Franklin, IN to Marvin Mace Matkins and Mamie Ella (Patterson) Matkins.

He was a graduate of Southport High School.

Daniel was a professional carpenter specializing in painting for All Purpose Improvement.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening with his mom, brothers and sister, spending time with his family and specifically with his mother.

Survivors include his daughter Misty Nicole Matkins Welch (Bill) of Ellettsville, IN, five grandchildren Dylan, Ella, Evelyn, Terry and Jonathan, two great- grandchildren Jaxson and Liam, his mother Mamie Ella (Patterson) Matkins of Indianapolis, IN, brothers William "Bill" Matkins of Indianapolis, IN and Rick Matkins (Nancy) of Beech Grove, IN, a sister Kathy Baker (Rick) of Avon, IN, nieces and nephews Hayley, Jessica, Ricky, Angela & Brian, Scott & Laura, Brian & Chris, Joe and Janel.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Misty's mother Betty Jean, wife Denise (Morley) Matkins, father Marvin Mace Matkins, grandchildren Dalton Welch, Billy Wayne Welch and McKenna Matkins and a sister-in-law Marie Matkins.

Private family services will be conducted.
