Daniel Wayne "Danny" Whitaker Jr., 55 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026.

He was born October 8, 1970 in Indianapolis, IN.

Danny was a 1989 graduate of Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, IN.

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in Operation Desert Storm and honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.

Danny was a machine operator for Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis for 28 years.

He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, golfing and storytelling.

Survivors include his daughter Brooke Madison Whitaker (Courtney Aman) of Indianapolis, IN, his mother and father Barbara Ann (Richards) Atkerson and Ron Atkerson of Bargersville, IN, his sister Bridget Santamaria of Greenwood, IN, his brother Michael Atkerson (Jillian) of Greenwood, IN, his fiancé Jennifer Welch-Morgan of Indianapolis, IN, former spouse Hope (Glass) Whitaker of Indianapolis, IN, niece Bella Santamaria, nephews Baron Santamaria and AJ Atkerson, his best buddy pit bull Shadow "Baby Boy".

His father Daniel Wayne Whitaker preceded him in death.

J. Greg Allen Jr. will conduct a celebration of life memorial service on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 3:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary/obiutary/danielwhitaker. Military honors will follow the service being conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.
