David A. Duncan, 89, of Bargersville, IN and formerly of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024.

He was born August 14, 1935 in McMinnville, TN to Oliver G. Duncan and Isabelle Marie (Davenport) Duncan.  David married Mary Ann (Deem) Duncan on July 30, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN; she preceded him in death on August 27, 2017.

He had served as transportation director for Wayne Township Schools in Indianapolis, IN for twenty-two years.  He previously had worked for Colonial Bakery in Indianapolis for ten years, served as fire chief for the Wayne Township Fire Department in the 1960's, Miller Transportation in Indianapolis, IN, Carey Limousine Service in Indianapolis, IN and retired from Hardees Restaurant at State Road 135 and Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, IN.

David enjoyed drag racing in the 1950's and 1960's, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine, Gracepoint Church in New Whiteland, IN, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his children David Michael "Mike" Duncan of Ft. Wayne, IN, Deborah Wallace (Bruce) of Indianapolis, IN, Donald Duncan (Monika) of Bargersville, IN, Damon Duncan (Teresa) of Indianapolis, IN, Denise Hurst of Acton, IN, son-in-law Jeff Sego of Franklin, IN, sisters Juanita Douglas of Fayetteville, NC and Donna Arnold (Tom) of Venice, FL, sister-in-law Anne Duncan of Indianapolis, IN, aunts Joyce Pinegar of McMinnville, TN and Irene Butchert (Clint) of McMinnville, TN, 20 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 11 great- great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Darlene Sego, brother-in-law Bobby Douglas, son-in-law Roger Hurst, great-granddaughter Audrey Sego, brothers Oliver G. Duncan Jr. and Wayne Duncan.

A service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 12:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-stream streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/davidduncan.  Friends may call Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 9:30AM until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
