Debra Lynn "Debbie" (Combs) Ellett, 60, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday,July 28, 2022.
She was born July 23, 1962 in Richmond, IN to Jack and Betty Jean (Utterback) Combs.
Debbie was a 1980 graduate of Greenwood High School where she was active in the marching band, varsity girls' basketball and softball.
Shortly after high school, she began a career in retail management with Frank's Nursery and Crafts and continued at Meijer where she spent 28 years sharing her gift of organization, hard-work ethic, and management skills. Debbie truly lived life to its fullest and she never let the grass grow under her feet! She had a deep passion for horticulture and loved the outdoors. She spent over ten years working in the greenhouses at the Indianapolis Art Garden in her "spare time". Debbie's favorite time was at the Johnson County Fair where she had received grand champion ribbons and taking her grandsons, attending the demolition derby and taking in the fair food. She was always busy loving and caring for her family, molding her career and found peace loving and caring for her plants, yard, and vegetable and flower gardens. She had the biggest heart and compassion for anyone in need.
She was a member of Providence Christian Church.
Survivors include her children Shawn Combs (Meagan) of Indianapolis, IN, Amber Wade of Indianapolis, IN and Megan Ellett of Franklin, IN, her husband Robert "Bob" Ellett of Franklin, IN, two grandsons that were the light of her life Bryce Wade and Joziah Ellett, her siblings DeeAnn McCloskey of Louisville, KY, Dean Combs (Becky) of Martinsville, IN and Dennis Combs (Laura) of New Whiteland, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father Jack Combs, her mother Betty Jean (Utterback) Combs and her grandparents.
Dr. Steven L. Sorenson will conduct a service on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com . Friends may call Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
