Donna A. (Downing) Voorhees, 92, of Piqua, OH passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community in Franklin, IN.  She was born October 17, 1931 in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Damon Dale Downing and Bertha (Mason) Downing.  She married Donald P. Voorhees on June 2, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio; he proceeded her in death on October 3, 2006.

Donna is survived by her daughter Teresa A. Voorhees of Cincinnati, Ohio and son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey D. and Alice Voorhees of Greenwood, IN.

Donna graduated from Johnstown-Monroe High School, Johnstown, Ohio.  She received her higher education at Miami University EXT and Wright State University.

She was employed as an executive secretary at Nationwide Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio, Manpower, and Brown-Bridge both in Troy, Ohio.

Donna was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Peace Circle, member of the Piqua Y.W.C.A and a former board member. She enjoyed volunteering at Piqua Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels.  Donna was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. She treasured the time she and Don spent in Brown County and Bloomington, Indiana.  She always said she was born an Ohioan by birth but a Hoosier at heart.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Forest Hill Cemetery, 8660 North State Route 66, in Piqua, Ohio.
