Dorothy M. (Vandivier) Bolin, 93, lifelong resident of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Hickory Creek in Franklin, IN.

She was born September 30, 1931 in Franklin, IN to Everett and Mildred (Willey) Vandivier.  Dorothy married Theodore Bolin on September 20, 1949 in Columbus, IN; he preceded her in death on October 6, 1997.

She was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Dorothy was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Franklin, IN and the American Business Women's Association where she had served as president.  She also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, going to the casino's, and attending the Franklin Senior Citizens group.

Dorothy had served as a banking associate at Mutual Savings Bank in Franklin, IN at the Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community Branch retiring on August 29, 2014 after several years service.  She previously had been a banker teller at Union Bank and Trust and Bank One in Franklin and also a telephone operator for United Telephone Company in Franklin.

Survivors include her daughters Diana Hickman (Bruce) of Indianapolis, IN, Cindy Lane of Franklin, IN, Paula Hardin (Robert) of Austin, IN, her sons Ted Bolin (Becky) of Greenwood, IN, Gary Bolin (Juanita) of Brown County, IN, Jim Bolin of Franklin, IN, Jeff Bolin of Franklin, IN, Dwight Bolin (Debra) of Shelby County, IN, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great- grandchildren and a brother-in-law Jim Webb of Trafalgar, IN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Debra "Susie" Bolin on July 21, 1974, a son Michael B. Bolin on September 10, 2011, a grandson Joshua Allen Bolin on November 12, 2012, brothers Harold Vandivier, Earl Vandivier and Larry Vandiver, sisters Geraldine Bundy, Pauline Spaw, Pansey Stevens and JoAnn Scholl.

Pastor Carl Coffey will conduct a service on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary/obituary/dorothybolin.  Friends may call Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
