Eddy O. Smith, 77, lifelong resident of Union Township, Bargersville, IN passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 with his loving family by his side.  He was born September 16, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to Livey E. and Ina Lou (Tackitt) Smith.  He married Judy A. (Donahue) Smith on January 3, 1964 in Providence, IN, she survives.

He was a 1962 graduate of Union Township School.

Eddy had been employed by Cummins in Columbus, IN for thirty one year's retiring as a supervisor.  He later had been a truck driver for Umbarger Show Feeds in Bargersville, IN for ten years.

He was a member of Providence Christian Church where he had served as elder, deacon and a member of the church choir, a fifty plus year member of Union Village Masonic Lodge #545 in Providence where he had served twice as Master of the Lodge, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and served many years as a trustee for Harris Cemetery in Union Township, Johnson County, IN.  He also was a member of the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association, the Blue River Valley Antique Power Association in Shelby County, and a member of the Nation Antique Tractor Pullers Association where he competed for many years antique tractor pulling.

Survivors include his wife Judy A. (Donahue) Smith of Bargersville, IN, a son Mark A. Smith (Carrie) of Whiteland, IN, his daughter Lisa L. Bradley (Ken) of Trafalgar, IN, his mother Ina Lou (Tackitt) Smith of Franklin, IN, a sister Diana F. Bright of North Vernon, IN, grandchildren Kyle Bradley (Chelsea) of Trafalgar, IN, Kaleb Bradley (Shalee) of Trafalgar, IN, Michaela White (Tyler) of Pacific, MO and Mitchell Smith (fiancé Cailin Pickett) of Bargersville, IN, great-grandchildren Kennedy Bradley, Baylor Bradley, Brody Bradley, Kolly Bradley and Emersyn Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his father Livey E. Smith on October 28, 2007 and a brother-in-law Gary Bright.

Pastor Seth Moorman will conduct a service on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12 PM Noon at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with a masonic service to follow conducted by Union Village Masonic Lodge #545 and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Friday April 22, 2022 from 10AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Union Township, Johnson County, IN.
