Edgar Pete Zehr, 90, of Franklin, Indiana was born on December 11, 1933 to Margaret (Bauer) Zehr and Clarence Zehr. He peacefully passed away on December 2, 2024 at Compass Park at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, IN.
He married Patricia Slyker Zehr of Evansville, IN on February 6, 1957.
Survivors include Jim (Tessie) of Leavenworth, IN, John (Becky) of Franklin, IN, and Nancy Hadley (Dane) of Greenwood, IN. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Eric Zehr, Samantha Pearson, Ross Syphers, Camryn Zehr and Alexis Zehr, three great grandchildren Zehr Pearson, Khloe Pearson, and Gavin Baker as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Robert, Calvin, Floyd and Kenny, and also sisters Evelyn Vonderschmidt and Edna Vonderschmidt and his beautiful wife Patricia.
Ed graduated Jasper High School in Jasper, IN. He attended Evansville College where he was also a member of Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He also served in the United States Army.
Ed was a principal owner in Specialty Connector Company and also the President of ECCO Manufacturing. He was a loyal member of the Franklin 107 Masonic Lodge and Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
Ed proudly served on the County Council, Hillview Country Club Board of Directors and was a past President of Hillview Country Club.
Besides his family interests, Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf.
A time of gathering and sharing of celebration will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN from 2PM until 5PM with military honors being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard at 5PM.
