Edith Bernice (Johnson) Duncan, 89, of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday November 1, 2023 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.
She was born March 19, 1934 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Oscar and Lockie (Mann) Johnson. Edith married Jerry Allen Duncan on November 18, 1955 at Shiloh Community Church in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on July 18, 2019.
She had worked in the cafeteria at Needham Elementary School in Franklin, IN for ten years.
Edith was a longtime member of Shiloh Community Church in Franklin. She enjoyed playing Bunco.
Survivors include her daughter Vickie Jo Qualls (Charlie) of Franklin, IN, her son Terry Allen Duncan (Fran) of Powell, WY, her brothers Gerald Johnson of Greenwood, IN and Odell Johnson (Justine) of Russell Springs, KY, sisters Reba Wilson of Russell Springs, KY and Adith Bradshaw (Doug) of Indianapolis, IN, thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Robert Johnson and a sister Juanita Wilson.
Pastor Mike Crockett will conduct a service on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 5PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 3pm until service time at the mortuary.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10AM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
