Obituary

Edward Frank "Ed" Froelich Jr., 76, of Franklin, IN passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.  He was born June 21, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN to Edward Frank Froelich Sr. and Mary (LaRussa) Froelich.  He married Linda Kay (Frazier) Froelich on April 22, 1967 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

He was a graduate of St. Roch Catholic High School and a graduate of Barber College in Indianapolis, IN.

He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War serving during the late 1960's and 1970's era.

He had been a professional barber for two years and a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service in downtown Indianapolis for 43 years.

Ed was a loyal and loving husband.  His love for wife Linda, could not be measured.  Knowing that "she was the one" for him, he loved her with all his heart for all his life.

Ed was a strong provider and father.  After working long, hard days at the post office, there was nothing more important to him than playing with his kids every evening.  As a high school athlete and lover of sports, he taught his children and grandchildren how to play strong, play fair and have fun.

He was a musician and played piano for church services as a boy, and as a dad, he played the piano at bedtime to his giggling and singing children.

Most importantly, Ed was a man of great faith.  He loved reading from God's Word and sharing it with others.

Survivors include his wife Linda Kay (Frazier) Froelich of 55 years of Franklin, IN, a daughter Katherine Mitchell (Craig) of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren Marcus Hanger, Sarah Goodwin (Kyle) and Rachael Hanger all of Greenwood, IN, great-grandchildren Kameron and Kinsley Goodwin, brothers Carl Froelich (Jil) of Indianapolis, IN and Frank Froelich of Indianapolis, IN, sisters Mary Coley of Indianapolis, IN, Roseann Kuhlmeyer of Indianapolis, IN and Josephine Busald (Kenny) of Indianapolis, IN and many other step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Edward John Froelich on July 20, 2012.

Chaplain David Mark Owens will conduct a service on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300, South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com Edward-froelich.  Friends may call Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 4PM until 8 PM at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN with full military honors by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard.
