Edwin Lee "Ed" Murray, 79, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024.

He was born March 28, 1945 in Beech Grove, Indiana.  He married Renea Cecile (Brown) Murray on September 17, 1971 in Franklin, IN, she survives.

Ed was a graduate of Franklin Community High School.  He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.

Ed had been a concrete finisher for Miranda Construction in Whiteland, IN for twenty years.

He was a member of Franklin American Legion Post 205.  Ed enjoyed playing softball, fishing and watching GRIT TV.

Survivors include his daughter Beth Ann Smith (Robert "Bobby") of Franklin, IN, his son Scott E. Murray (Kelly) of Greenwood, IN, five grandchildren Jordan Lee Murray of Franklin, IN, Mackenzie Smith of Franklin, IN, Mattie Smith of New Palestine, IN, Porten Steven Murray of Greenwood, IN and Carl Smith of Franklin, IN, four great-grandchildren Alice Smith, Gregory Smith, Hunter Smith and Kinsley Borreggine, and a brother Richard Gene Murray (Sharon) of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bula Mae (Helms) Murray and a brother Robert Ray Murray.

A service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN followed by military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.  Services will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/edwinmurray.
