Elia "Jean" Clark, 84, of Greenwood, IN passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Compass Park at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, IN. She was born February 6, 1941 in Jamestown, Kentucky to Sammy Green Coe and Mattie (Grant) Coe Turner. Jean married Gerald "Jerry" Clark on September 8, 1956 in Indianapolis, IN where they lived and raised their five children before moving to Greenwood, IN in the early 2000's.
She was a graduate of Harry E. Wood High School in Indianapolis, IN. Jean loved traveling, camping, cooking, reading, and loved animals. She sacrificed all of her own needs for her family insuring that they were always taken care of.
Jean was preceeded in death by her husband Jerry on January 4, 2017, her parents Sammy Green Coe and Mattie (Grant) Coe Turner, a brother Everett Coe, sisters Joyce Civils, Joan Lohman, and infant Gladys Coe.
She is survived by her children Annette Rainbolt (Greg) of Greenwood, IN, Jeff Clark (Cindy Plymate) of Whiteland, IN, Cindy Kelley (Tim) of Battle Ground, IN, Joanna Sahm (Mike Spellman) of Indianapolis, IN, and Steven Clark (Kevin Hon) of Indianapolis, IN; one brother Elmer Coe (David) of Indianapolis, IN; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/eliajeanclark. Friends may call Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.
