Faye E. Hunter, of Greenwood, IN, formerly of Trafalgar, IN and Ossian, IN passed away May 30, 2023. She was 94.

Faye was the daughter of Walter and Nadine Elliott.  She was married to Sherwood E. Hunter for 67 years until his death in 2013.  Faye was also preceded in death by two daughters, Diana Nadine and Jean Ann Kenrick (Mike) along with her only sibling, Wendell Elliott.

Faye was a lifelong devoted Christian, a decades long women's leader at the Ossian Methodist Church and worked as a bookkeeper after raising her three children.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Linda K. Hunter, grandchildren Barton James Hunter (Sarah), Curtis James Hunter and Nicholas James Hunter (Christina), Chris Kenrick and Elizabeth Kenrick.  Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Carson James Hunter, Grant Barton Hunter, Reagan Kay Hunter, Molly Grace Hunter, Jackson James Hunter, and Hannah Corinne Hunter.

After her family, Faye's legacy will always be her years of tireless, compassionate, and unrelenting bedside care of her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, aunts, and lastly her husband.

A private graveside service will occur prior to burial beside Sherwood at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian, IN.  Arrangements are being handled by Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South Morton Street (US Highway 31) in Franklin, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to benefit the Ossian Volunteer Fire Department, 507 North Main Street, Ossian, IN, 46777.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
