Florence Elaine Dunham (Jones), 91, of Westfield, IN, was called home to be with her Savior on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was the loving wife of Warren and mother to four children and grandmother to nine grandchildren.
Florence (Flo) was born June 28, 1934 in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada to Arthur and Evelyn Jones. When she was two, her family moved to the Kenora District in western Ontario where she attended a one-room school. In 1948, the family moved back to Muskoka and Flo graduated high school in Port Carling, Ontario.
She graduated from Nurses training at Toronto East General Hospital in 1957. She delayed going to Emmaus Bible School for one year to help her mother after her father died unexpectedly in 1958. In 1960, she went to Emmaus Bible School in Oak Park, IL, where she met her husband, Warren. They were married right after her graduation on June 1, 1963, and left shortly after to travel by ship to the mission field. After spending two years on short-term missions in Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan and Philippines, they settled in Korea, where they spent 14 years serving as missionaries.
Florence and family returned to West Lafayette, IN in 1980, where she helped reestablish her family into western culture and worked alongside Warren in his work as a full time worker for West Side Bible Fellowship. She enjoyed hosting groups of people in her home and in that way served as a witness to old family friends, young people at the assembly and neighbors. Florence and Warren moved to Lake Geneva, WI, in 1995 to work at Lake Geneva Youth Camp, and they were active members of Lake Geneva Bible Chapel.
When they retired, they moved to Indianapolis to be near their sons and grandchildren. They became active members of Bethany Christian Fellowship in Indianapolis. Florence enjoyed making a welcoming home for Warren and family and friends, hosting out of town guests often. She enjoyed reading, knitting, puzzle making, playing games, music, traveling, visiting friends and family and hiking in many state parks. After the loss of her husband, Warren, in 2021, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law. In 2024, she moved to Copper Trace Assisted Living Facility where she passed into the presence of her Lord after a steady decline due to dementia. Florence loved the Lord and spent her life actively sharing the gospel and facilitating the spreading of the gospel in the various countries where they worked. She often taught Sunday School and passed on her Biblical knowledge to students and her own children. As she grew older, she would be found every morning sitting at the kitchen table studying her Bible and sharing new thoughts about familiar passages.
Florence is survived by her children, her son Dan (Laura) from Pittsboro, IN, her daughter Ruth (Bob) Agnew from Zionsville, IN, her son Tim (Sarah) from Greenwood, IN, her grandchildren Edana, Alaina, Abigail, Claire, Alex, Graham, Caleb, William and Samuel and her sister Phyllis McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren in 2021 and by her son Steve, from Lafayette, IN in 2007. Florence will be greatly missed, but her family is rejoicing that she is at home with her Lord and Savior.
