Gary Robert Kimbley, 66, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Greenwood Healthcare Center.

He was born March 30, 1960 in Beech Grove, IN to Aaron "Bob" Kimbley and Derotha Mae (Treadway) Kimbley.

Gary was a 1979 graduate of Beech Grove High School and the C-9 Vocational School in Greenwood having received his degree in electrical studies.

He had been a journeyman electrician for the IBEW Local 481 for many years having worked for Miller-Eads and Johnson Controls.

Gary enjoyed hiking, target shooting, spending time in the woods, traveling to Tennessee, and was an avid learner.

Survivors include his nephew Christopher Forehand (Brennan) of Montgomery, IN, his aunt Cecile Williams of Crawfordsville, IN, a aunt Becky Treadway of Cumberland Gap, TN,  uncle and aunt Neal and Patti Treadway of Greenwood, IN, uncle Robert Treadway of Cumberland Gap, TN, aunt and uncle Rosemary and Roger Swalls of Avon, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glen Kimbley, sister Karen Forehand, and uncle George Treadway.

Pastor Jeremy Towne will conduct a service on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 12 PM Noon at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/garykimbley.  Visitation will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10AM until service time at the mortuary.
