Gene Prosser of Franklin, IN came into this world along with his identical twin brother Jerry Prosser on June 27, 1939 at Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to Morris Prosser and Mildred (Dennis) Prosser.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years Carolyn (Legan) Prosser of Franklin, IN, his son Brett Prosser and his wife Jenny Prosser of Rossville, Indiana and their two children Robby and Paige along with a great-granddaughter Eleanor, and his son Eric Prosser and his wife Kristy Prosser of Martinsville, Indiana, their children Gannon Prosser and Larkin Prosser.

He was called home to be with the Lord at 12:37 am on Monday, August 25, 2025.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

He proudly served his country in the Air Force Reserve and was called into active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Gene retired from Eli Lilly after a 37-year career during which time he earned his Associate's degree in Business from Indiana Central University.

Gene enjoyed playing golf and was a 28 year member of Hillview Country Club, as well as an 8 year member at The Legends of Indiana golf course.

Gene and his family love the Indianapolis Colts and he was a season ticket holder for 25+ years.

Gene and Carolyn enjoyed spending winters in Marco Island, Florida for 20 years making many memorable friendships there.  Gene loved spending time with his family most of all, and attending his grandchildren's activities

In their later years, they joined Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN and found one of the great joys of their lives in being members of the Welcome Team, greeting members as they come into the Sanctuary for worship.

Pastor Matt Pineda will conduct a celebration of life memorial service on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/geneprosser.  Friends may call Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10AM until service time at the mortuary.
