Geoffrey "Geoff" Sutton, 72, of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He was a beloved grandfather, father and husband. "Poppi" loved to spend time with his grandkids Josh, Luke, Cohen, Allison, Jaime, Amanda and Romy. He was a graduate of Center Grove High School Class of 1971 and a lifelong supporter of Center Grove football. He coached Bantam football, Little League baseball, and youth soccer for many years.

Geoff worked for and retired from the United Telephone Company in Franklin after 30 years. He later went on to work for Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center and the Pleasant Township Trustee Office. Geoff was a former Johnson County Council member and later served on the board for the Johnson County Parks. Geoff was a member of Devol Masonic Lodge 766 in Franklin, IN where he served as lodge secretary.

Geoff was preceded in death by his father Forrest "Tug", his mother Norma Jean, and his brother Forrest "Tug".

Geoff is survived by his wife Kat, his brother Steve (Cindy), his sister Marilyn (Tug), his son Derek (Petra), his daughter Cassie (Brad), his son Aaron (Kelli), and his daughter Tara (Jason).

Geoff was born and raised in Smith Valley. He never met a stranger. He loved to meet people, see friends, fish, and tell stories. Geoff was a kind man who will be forever loved by those who knew him as a friend, husband, Dad, coach, and Poppi.

A masonic service with a memorial celebration of life service to follow will be conducted on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/geoffsutton.  Visitation will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.

After the services, a gathering for friends and family will take place at the White River Township Community Room, 2929 S. Morgantown Rd. in Greenwood, IN.
