Obituary

Georgia G. (Gregory) Bottorff, 78, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born January 19, 1946 in Mooresville, IN.  She married Reverend Dr. Joe F. Bottorff on June 15, 1968 in Seymour, IN, he survives.

Georgia was a graduate of Mooresville High School, received her B.A. degree from Hanover College and her M.A. degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.  She had been a manager for the Burlington Coat Factory at Eastgate Mall, and in Castleton and Greenwood where she retired after 30 years of service.

Georgia was a member of Roberts Park United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN and attended the Ladies Luncheon at Smith Valley United Methodist Church.

She spent many hours working for the National Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority, an organization promoting educational excellence.  She was an avid Indiana University Basketball fan for over 30 years, a follower of the Drum Corp International where her grandson Bailey performed and continued after for several years.

Georgia was active in mission trips, Bridges of Hope International, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Reverend Dr. Joe F. Bottorff of Indianapolis, IN, her daughter Heather E. Harmon (Chad) of Indianapolis, IN, sons Christopher K. Bottorff (Amber) of Zionsville, IN and N. Christian Bottorff (Kim) of Silver Spring, Maryland, six grandsons Bailey Scott, Brandon Scott, Blake Scott, Seth Bottorff, Gideon Bottorff and Silas Bottorff and a great grandson Greysen Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Gregory and Florence (DeGroot) Via.

Reverend Dr. Andrew Scanlan-Holmes and Reverend Trevor Farmer will conduct a celebration of life memorial service on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11AM at Roberts Park United Methodist Church, 401 North Delaware Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204 where the family will receive friends for a time of gathering and visitation from 10AM until service time at the church.

A private family inurnment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, IN.
