Gerald William "Buck" Roberts, 84, of Florence, KY and a longtime former resident of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Magnolia Springs in Florence, KY.
He was born February 25, 1939 in Frankfort, IN to William Simpson Roberts and Mary Elizabeth (Waggoner) Roberts. He married Pauletta "Polly" (Nicholas) Roberts on March 5, 1961 in Indianapolis, IN; she preceded him in death on January 22, 2015.
Buck was a 1957 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis, IN. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
He retired from Indianapolis Power and Light as a water treatment foreman after several years of service.
Buck loved and lived for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter Tarrie Dee Ledford (Rich) of Louisville, KY, his son Todd William Roberts (Angie) of Florence, KY, eleven grandchildren Bradley Ledford (Lauren), Annie (Ledford) Shaughnessy (Corey), Sadie Ledford, Holly (Ledford) Fulkerson (Griffin), Kobe Ledford, Kiya Ledford, Teirstynn Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Faith Roberts, Halleigh Roberts and Kirsten Roberts, three great-grandchildren, Lucy Jo Shaughnessy, Brooks Alan Ledford, Addison Lee Ledford and one more great-grandchild coming in July. Also surviving are his twin brother Harold E. "Skip" Roberts (JoAnn) of McCordsville, IN and sister Joy Wilson (Danny) of Lebanon, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Polly Roberts, a brother Michael "Mikey" Roberts and a sister-in-law Deloris June "Doty" Roberts.
Pastor Brian Butler will conduct a service on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com Friends may call Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary. Burial with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow the service at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
