Gertrude Augusta (Crosslin) Martin, 98, of Franklin, IN and formerly of Crawford County, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at her daughter's residence in Franklin, IN.

She was born June 29, 1924 in Gans, Oklahoma to Samuel and Ida (Rhoads) Crosslin.  She married Roy Orin Martin on July 11, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was married for 71 years, a marriage of total devotion to each other; he preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.

Gertrude had worked in retail stores as a bookkeeper and cashier. She worked at Woolworth Five & Dime and Macy's in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She had been a Christian all of her life and made sure everyone knew she was a "Pentecostal Christian".  Her church and faith were so important to her.  Gertrude loved music and grew up singing and playing guitar for family revivals and church services.

Survivors include her daughter Nedra Kay Melton Moore Dunn (Gail Dunn) of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Rhonda McNerney (Tom) of Solsberry, IN, David Melton (Krista) of Columbus, IN, Kenneth Melton (Mashawn) of Franklin, IN, Rachel Worthington (Will) of Joplin, MO, Andrew Melton (Crystal) of Nashville, TN and Danny Mullins (Linda) of Joplin, MO who were adopted in love, great-grandchildren Alisa Camarata (Joe) of Johnson City, TN, Anna Bejeck (Chris) of Kansas City, KS, Samuel McNerney of Lansing, MI, Trevin Melton of Seymour, IN, Kyle Melton of Columbus, IN, Kadee Melton of Columbus, IN, Macy Melton of Columbus, IN, Gracie Melton of Columbus, IN, Baily Roach (William) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Brooklyn Logsdon (Luke) of Hilton Head, SC, Carver Melton (Katlyn) of Franklin, IN, McKenna Melton of Franklin, IN, DeLaney Melton of Nashville, IN, McCabe Melton of Nashville, TN, Aadyn Crider Mullins of Joplin, MO, Mikayla Crider of Franklin, IN, Marrissa Whitaker of Franklin, IN and Eric Murray of Franklin, IN, great-great-grandchildren Henri Camarata, Oscar Camarata, Sullivan Camarata, Adeline Bejeck, Josephine Bejeck, Liam Roach, Roy Roach, Lennon Logsdon, Emerson Logsdon, Ezra Melton, Wren Melton, Benjamin Gardner, Ronan Dunn, and Silas Osmon.

She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Ida (Rhoads) Crosslin, her husband Roy Orin Martin, a brother David Crosslin and infant brother at the age of 5, Earl Crosslin.

A service will be conducted on Saturday September 3, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.

Additional services will be conducted on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2PM (Central Time) at Ocker Putman Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas with visitation from 1PM until service time.  Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas.
