Gloria Schiavarelli

Gloria Jean (Fyffe) Crofts Schiavarelli, 85, of Franklin, IN passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born May 29, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN.

Gloria married Richard R. Crofts in 1963 in Indianapolis, IN, he preceded her in death on August 6, 1997.  She later married Nicholas “Nick” Schiavarelli on September 4, 2004 in Edinburgh, IN, he survives.

She was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN and the House of James Beauty College.

Gloria had been a cosmetologist and hair stylist for many years.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, the Johnson County Garden Club, the Edinburgh Antique Club, the Rosa skating club and the Indiana Ballet.

Survivors include her husband Nicholas “Nick” Schiavarelli of Franklin, IN, her children Michelle Padgett (Tom) of Franklin, IN, Robert Crofts (Denise) of New Whiteland, IN, step-daughter Nicole Simmerman (Duane) of Greenwood, IN, step-son Roman Schiavarelli of Indianapolis, IN, granddaughter Jessica Ellis of Franklin, IN, grandsons Richard Ellis of Franklin, IN, step-grandson Michael Springer of Greenwood, IN, step-grandson Zachary Combs of Greenwood, IN, great-grandsons Cayden Ellis and Keegan Ellis both of Franklin, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph E. Fyffe, her mother Betty Fern (Tuttle) Fyffe Simpson, her sister Melody Cadill and brother Robin Slone.

Father Tim DeCrane will conduct a service on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/gloriaschiavarelli.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
