On May 3, 2024, Irine (Carson) Thompson, 87, of Allons, TN and formerly of Franklin, IN, loving wife, mother, and sister passed away with her husband Kent of 64 years by her side.
She was born April 14, 1937 in Campton, Kentucky to George W. Carson and Lilly M. (Stewart) Carson. She married Kent A. Thompson on January 15, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN, he survives.
She attended Ashlock Church of Christ in Celina, Tennessee.
Irine was a wonderful homemaker, cook, enjoyed spending time with friends and family, being outdoors gardening and searching for four leafed clovers and interesting rocks.
Survivors include her husband Kent A. Thompson of Allons, TN, her sons Jack Thompson of Indianapolis, IN, Kenny Thompson of Franklin, IN, Tony Thompson (Dawn) of Celina, TN, her daughter Shirley Driver (Mike) of Franklin, IN, eight grandchildren Danielle Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, MaKayla Thompson, Candace Rife, Paul Driver, Colton Thompson, Kimber Thompson and Lindsay Thompson, a great-granddaughter Emery Driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Ronald Wayne Thompson, sisters Lorene Dikes, Reva Sears, Faye Wagler, brothers Fred Carson and Steve Carson.
Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Thursday May 9, 2024 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/irinethompson. Friends may call Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
