Jack Eugene Nibarger, 84, of Whiteland, IN entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday evening, January 13, 2024 while a resident of Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN.

He was born October 30, 1939 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Harold and Joan (McClain) Nibarger.

Jack graduated from Southport High School and married Gladys "Opal" (Austin) Nibarger on August 6, 1957, she survives.  He met Opal at the Southern Circle and married her three weeks later saying "he couldn't resist the blonde in the black 57 Chevy!"

Jack started working for his dad at a young age at H&N Construction and helped him build several hundred homes in Greenwood and Indianapolis.  He then spent most of his working years as a private contractor, truck driver and later retired for the third time from Walmart as a maintenance man in Franklin, IN.

Jack was a member of Grace Point Church in Whiteland, IN.  He was well known and remembered by his love of writing, especially about heaven, our country and prophecy.  He loved serving in the church as a deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher.  Jack loved making up stories, scaring his kids with pranks, and calling everyone by a made-up name.  He was called Pops, Papa by his grandkids and Twinkie Man and Brad Pitt by his adopted granddaughters at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center where they treated him like family and loved him dearly.  Jack was a 100% Elvis Presley fan, loved the color orange and wearing his Jesus hat, watching western movies and television shows, and the Three Stooges.

Survivors include his wife G. "Opal" (Austin) Nibarger of Whiteland, IN, son Steve Nibarger and his wife Linda of Franklin, IN, daughters Sheral Nibarger and Jackie Mulinaro both of Franklin, IN and Becca Daugherty and her husband Doug of Fullerton, CA, sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren, and his sister Patty McClain of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Steven Ryan Nibarger and Joseph Mulinaro, son-in-law Tim Mulinaro and granddaughter Sara Voris.

Services will be private and will be live-streamed at 11:30AM on Monday, January 22, 2024 at www.swartzmortuary.com.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling arrangements. A private family graveside service was conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN. The family wishes to express their most heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin for the care they provided to Jack.
