James Carl Fritz, 90, of Greenwood, IN died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, IN.

He was born May 2, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to Carl W. Fritz and Lucille M. (Baker) Fritz.  He married Janice E. (McCammon) Fritz on September 24, 1954 at Center United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

Jim was a graduate of Southport High School.

He was a machinist toolmaker and a maintenance supervisor at the Wallace Expanding Machine and Tool Company and later worked and retired from Kortzendorf Machine and Tool Company.

Jim was a member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church in Greenwood, IN where he was chairman of the trustees for nine years.

He was a benefactor lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Jim enjoyed antique farm tractors and tractor pulling.

Survivors include his wife Janice E. (McCammon) Fritz of Greenwood, IN, a nephew Jason Kimery (Melody) of Bloomington, IN and a niece Jenifer DeForest (David) of Bloomington, IN and four great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carla Lucille Wimmenauer and brother-in-law Claude Wimmenauer.

Pastor Trevor Farmer will conduct a service on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 1PM at Smith Valley United Methodist Church, 5239 Old Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, IN.  Friends may call Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11AM until service time at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
