James Michael "Mike" LaBirt, 60, of Greenwood, IN passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born September 23, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York to James Adam LaBirt and Flora (Reese) LaBirt.
He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Mike was a certified audio engineer and was a graduate of Center for Media Arts in New York.
He was currently a class A route driver for Airgas an Air Liquide Company in Indianapolis, IN.
Mike attended Southwood Church in Indianapolis, IN and was the founder of New Generation Records established in 1989, Studio 77 Music Productions and Muscle Cars NY Mets.
He enjoyed DJ Music, photography, Ole Smokey Bourbon (Salted Caramel), The Shining, and any 1970's movies.
He married Ivy A. (Elogario) LaBirt on April 16, 2005 in Somerset, New Jersey, she survives. Other survivors include his children Jasmine Venice LaBirt, Janelle Andrea LaBirt and Jaela Victoria LaBirt, his mother Flora (Reese) LaBirt and his brother Lawrence C. LaBirt.
Mike was preceded in death by his father James Adam LaBirt, and grandparents Sonia Gradney and Samuel LaBirt, David and Mary Glenn.
Pastor Keith Williams will conduct a service on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2PM until service time at the mortuary.
A celebration of life service will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 6PM at Southwood Church, 8700 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46217 where the family will receive friends from 4PM until service time at the church.
