Jay Lynn Chrisman Jr., 47, of Greenwood, IN passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN after he courageously fought and lost his battle with cancer.

He was born December 15, 1975 in Anderson, IN to Jay Lynn Chrisman Sr. and Melinda Kay (McGahey) Chrisman.

Jay was a 1994 graduate of Center Grove High School and Plumbing Journeyman School.

He was a professional licensed plumber for several years.

Jay enjoyed drawing and especially fishing and caving with his daughters.  He also was an avid Star Wars fan.

Survivors include his daughters Kaylee Sue Chrisman (fiancé Tyler) of Indianapolis, IN and Jalyne Marie Chrisman of Whiteland, IN, his parents Jay Lynn Chrisman Sr. and Melinda Kay (McGahey) Chrisman of Greenwood, IN, his sister Amy Jo Chauncey (Rob) of Aubrey, TX and brother Adrian Michael Chrisman (Michelle) of Greenwood, IN, niece Isabella Chauncy, nephews Blake Chrisman and Cayden Chrisman, maternal step-grandfather Melvin Robinson of Macon, GA, aunts Kim Vannatta (Brad) of Frankton, IN and Tammy Blann (Brian) of Macon, GA, uncles Steve McGahey (Jennifer) of Elwood, IN and Howard McGahey (Teresa) of Runnells, IA.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Carolyn Sue (Dudley) Robinson, maternal grandfather Kenneth McGahey, paternal grandparents Alfred Chrisman and Dorothy (Bright) Chrisman and an aunt Kathryn Staley.

Pastor Bill Blakely will conduct a service on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 2PM until service time at the mortuary.  A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12 Noon at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 734 North Morgantown Road in Greenwood, IN.
