Jean Marie (Catt) Williams passed December 30, 2024, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin. Jean was born July 11, 1931, to the late Lowell and Elsie (Merrick) Catt in Franklin. She graduated in 1949 from Franklin High School and married Samuel J. Williams on June 1, 1952, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Sam preceded Jean in death on August 7, 2006. Jean worked in the office of the Williams family business until leaving to raise a family.
In 1971, Jean graduated from the Indianapolis School of Practical Nursing. After graduation, she worked as an LPN at Riley Hospital for Children for three and a half years. She left Riley to work at Johnson Memorial Hospital and retired after 20 years of service.
Jean was a lifelong member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. She also belonged to Eastern Star and was the first Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters in Franklin, IN.
She enjoyed church activities, traveling, eating out with family and friends, bridge club and Bunco. Her passion, however, was loving and caring for her family and especially enjoying grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors are her children: Debbie (Mark) Myers of Franklin, Cindy Williams of Bargersville and Joe (Lisa) Williams of Franklin. Her grandchildren, Dr. Adam (Kelly) Myers of Mulberry, Erin (Gabe) Fleck of Indianapolis, and Mindy (Jimmy) Ison of Greenwood. Her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Myers; Sam, Sarah, Noah and Natalie Fleck; and Grace and Peyton Ison.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, bonus children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by in-laws Marley and Mary Williams, brother, James Catt, sisters and their husbands Joann (Ray) Esteb, Alice Jane (Don) Woelfel.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Swartz Family Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W 100 N, Franklin, IN. Visitation will be one hour before services with Reverend Brandon Jolley officiating. Burial following services at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin.
