Jeannette Renee (LaPan) Henry, 65, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 30, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan.
Jeannette was a United States Army Veteran having served in Ft. Carson, Colorado.
She had worked as a clerk for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Defiance, Ohio and Findley, Ohio.
Jeannette enjoyed cooking, shopping, and especially being a grandma and softball mom. She also had a special place in her heart for her cats and other critters that she fed.
She married Cole Allyn Henry on February 4, 1983 in Colorado Springs, Colorado; he survives and is a resident of Greenwood, IN. Also surviving are her children Lacey Vejar of Ft. Wayne, IN, Crystal Romero (Isaiah) of Ottawa, OH, Austin Henry (Shauna) of Casper, WY and Bethany Schwertner of Findlay, OH, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother Tom LaPan (Debbie) of Sanford, MI and a sister Susan LaPan of Twining, MI.
She was preceded in death by her father David William "Bill" LaPan Jr., her mother Rose (Lawrence) Rifenbark, her son Wyatt Allyn Henry and brother Dave LaPan.
The family would like to especially express their appreciation for the exceptional care for Jeannette by Luminary Hospice including Morgan and Whitney.
Pastor Todd Poynter will conduct a service on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 6:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with military honors being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/jeannettehenry.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 4PM until service time at the mortuary.
