Jeffrey Gene Kean, 66, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born December 25, 1955 in Franklin, IN to Kalus Marion Kean and Agnes Evelyn (Grider) Kean.  He married Cheryl Jane (Whetstine) Kean on June 27, 1972 in Franklin, IN, she lovingly survives.

Jeffrey worked for ArvinMeritor most of his life and retired in 2004.  He loved spending his free time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He had many different hobbies.  He loved getting together with his friends and family to play a night of cards.

He's remembered by his wife Cheryl Jane (Whetstine) Kean of Franklin, IN, three sons: Andy (Stephanie) Kean, Ocklawaha, Florida, Jeremy (Sheilah) Kean, Soldotna, Alaska, Brandon (Rachael) Kean, Bloomington, IN, three daughters: Jenny Kean, Franklin, IN, Alyshcia (Luke) Stubbs, Morgantown, IN, Abbrielle Kean, Franklin, IN; eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers and  sister: Larry (Kim) Kean, Tuscan, AZ, Jack (Trish) Kean, Franklin, IN, Pam (Rick) Service, Franklin, IN; brother and sister-in-laws: Davie Whetstine, Franklin, IN, Billy (Jan) Whetstine, and Susie (David) Stocklin, Franklin, IN.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, one son, Jacob Kean on August 24, 2020, sister-in-law, Kathy Kean, and two brother-in-laws, Richard and Kenneth Whetstine.

A service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com Jeffrey-kean.  Friends may call Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
