Jeffrey Michael
Mattner
October 10, 1959 — December 15, 2025
Martinsville
Jeffrey Michael Mattner, 66, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on October 10, 1959, in Westwood, New Jersey, to Alfred Henry Otto Mattner and Therese Ann (McCaffery) Mattner. Jeff married Wendy (Walker) Mattner on September 25, 1982, in River Vale, New Jersey.
Jeff graduated from Nyack College in Nyack, New York with a degree in Education. He went on to obtain an MA degree at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, and later completed an EdD (Doctor of Education) degree in Educational Leadership through Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Throughout his professional career, Jeffrey served as Head of School at three different Christian schools: Brookdale Christian School in Bloomfield, New Jersey; Elkhart Christian Academy in Elkhart, Indiana; and Harvest Christian Academy in Elgin, Illinois. He was in his 15th year serving as Central Division Senior Director for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), based in Plano, Texas. He dedicated his life to Christian education and generously gave himself to serving the people he loved so dearly. He was a faithful servant of Christ who led with humility, integrity, and compassion.
Jeff was a member of Stones Crossing Church in Greenwood, Indiana, where he faithfully served as a small group leader. He never met a stranger, and was always intentional about making people feel comfortable, loved and included. He deeply loved his family and cherished time spent together—especially fishing with his grandchildren on the lake behind his home or cruising the water with his wife and their dog, Bo.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Wendy (Walker) Mattner of Martinsville, Indiana; his three daughters, Melissa (Mattner) Weston (Brock) of Prospect, Ohio, Ally (Mattner) Meraz (Ben) of Bloomington, Indiana, and Kimberly (Mattner) Berko (Joseph) of Whiteland, Indiana; and his beloved grandchildren: Brogan (17), Elliot (15), and Kinlee (13) Weston; Judah (10), Asher (9), and Audrey (6) Meraz; and Adrienne (13), Sydney (11), Chloe (8), Ainsley (4), and Grayson (1) Berko. He is also survived by his siblings: Al, Sue, Eileen, Deb, Bill, Dan, and Mary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Terry Mattner, and his brother, Tom Mattner.
