Jeffery Dewan Poynter, 53, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born August 20, 1969 in Greenfield, IN to Toby Vernon Poynter Sr. and Nancy L. (Farrow) Poynter.

He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis, IN.

Survivors include his sister Dawn S. White (Thomas) of Indianapolis, IN, brothers Nelson V. Poynter (Chris) of Fort Payne, AL, Greg A. Poynter (Tammy) of McCordsville, IN and Toby V. Poynter Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, nieces and nephews Christopher Poynter (Abby) of Indianapolis, IN, Olivia Gomez (Steven) of Tennessee, Jessica Wilson (Bradley) of Greenwood, IN, Allison Poynter of Indianapolis, IN and Clay White of Indianapolis, IN, great-nieces and nephews Emma Payne, Thomas Joe Payne, Harrison Gomez and Samuel Poynter.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.
