Obituary

Jennifer Lynn (Gibson) Johnson, 53, of Trafalgar, IN passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.  She was born May 26, 1968 in Franklin, IN to Harold Smith "Jack" Gibson and Nina Jeanne (May) Gibson.  She married Chris Allan Johnson on May 29, 1994, he survives.

Jennifer came to fame to many as a DJ back in the late 80's at the Franklin Skate Club.  She was also an employee of Kroger for 15 years, managing the seafood shop during the latter of her career with the company.  Her most recent trade was tax preparation for American Tax Service in Franklin, IN.  Since 1994, she was the caregiver for her mother, Nina Jeanne May.  Nina's longevity and health of 93 years is a tribute to Jennifer's constant care and attention.

Jennifer DJ'd hundreds of weddings and dances.  As a DJ, her enthusiasm, professionalism, and personality were especially noted and appreciated.  In her earlier years she was a soloist in opening the revivals at various churches.  She had a recording offer, but turned it down.  She feared fame, and all that went with it, would interfere with her familial pursuits.  Jennifer was the chorister for her local Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin.

She was a devoted mother and wife.  She was a loyal friend to hundreds of others who often sought out her friendships and advice.  She always offered encouraging words as many will attest, and she would also give of her time and energy to just talk and listen.

Many who played softball with her knew her as "Hot Dog," a nickname that has been with her for many years.  Jennifer Lynn Johnson was one of a kind, a gift from God.  We will miss her laughter, personality, wit, smile, and friendship greatly.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Chris Allan Johnson of Trafalgar, IN, her children Jacklynn Jeanne Miller (Matthew) of Trafalgar, IN, Chris Jacob Allan Johnson (Kait) of the United States Air Force, their adopted son Scott Allan Warren of Franklin, IN, Cassandra Marie Emberton of Greenwood, IN, Jennifer Brooke Droghei of Lake Stevens, Washington, grandchildren Zach Emberton (Leah), Tevis Byrne and Emmah Byrne, two great-grandchildren Logan and Rowan, four brothers David Gibson (Becky) of Greenwood, IN, Dan Gibson (Beverly) of Davenport, Florida, Russell Gibson of Indianapolis, IN and Mike Gibson (Susan) of Mooresville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father Harold Smith "Jack" Gibson and passed away one day before her mother Nina Jeanne (May) Gibson on January 14, 2022.
