Jerry Lee Trimble, 79, of Franklin, IN, passed away on March 31, 2023, at the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park.
Jerry was born on August 20, 1943, to Ervil and Clara Marie (Sowder) Trimble in Burnetta, Kentucky. Jerry graduated from Southwestern High School in Marietta, IN in 1961. He went on to serve one tour in the United States Army stationed in Germany, where he served as a Communications Specialist.
Jerry and Phyllis (Hoffman) Trimble were married on September 2, 1967, in Edinburgh, IN. They were married for fifty-five years. They have three children: Catherine Gentry (Jerry) of Franklin, IN, Michelle Jones (William) of Mooresville, IN, and Joshua Trimble (Lindsey) of Greenwood, IN. They have six grandchildren: Kegan Gentry, Alex Gentry Daily, Christopher Jones, Hannah Jones Wyatt, Rylie Trimble, and Gavin Trimble, and two great-grandchildren: Caroline Gentry and Elliot Daily. Jerry has two sisters: Phyllis Trimble Fuel of Shelbyville, IN, and Geraldine Trimble Heuer of Shelbyville, IN.
Jerry was employed for 30 years by the United States Postal Service as an Electronic Technician, retiring in 2002.
Jerry was a dedicated and devoted husband and father who loved fishing, camping, and could fix anything. He was a long–time member of Franklin First Assembly of God.
Pastor Phillip Curtis will conduct a service on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 1 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com . Friends may call Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 10 AM until service time at the mortuary. Burial with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
