Joan Evelyn (Lewis) Daugherty, 92, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022.  She was born January 23, 1930 in Franklin, IN to Granville and Lillian (Devore) Lewis.  She married Ralph M. Daugherty on December 29, 1951 in Franklin, IN, he preceded her in death on October 4, 1993.

She had been a receptionist and switchboard operator for Mechanics Laundry in Indianapolis, IN for 20 years.  She previously had been a supervisor for Indiana Bell in Indianapolis, IN.

She attended Alva Neal High School in Franklin, IN.  She was an animal lover and especially birds.  She enjoyed motorcycling, boating, flower gardening and spending time with family.

Survivors include her daughters Tina M. Humble (Juli Baurain) of Franklin, IN and Debbie Fisher of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Sabrina Humble Tharpe (William) of Indianapolis, IN, Annie Fisher of Franklin, IN, Luke Fisher of Franklin, IN, Jay Johns (Dawn) of Nineveh, IN, Lyndsey Johns of Fort Myers, FL, Jesse Ryan of Fort Myers, FL, a great-grandchild Ireland Humble, niece Katrina Harsch (Jonathon) of Nineveh IN, nephew Scotty Lewis of AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers David Lewis, Richard Lewis and Glen Lewis.

Rev. Dr. Jenothy Irvine will conduct a service on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 5PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Monday, May 23, 2022 from 4PM until service time at the mortuary.  A private family inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
