Obituary

John William McGlaughlin Jr., 64, of Bargersville, IN passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born December 7, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN to John William McGlaughlin Sr. and Jacqueline E. (Williams) McGlaughlin.  He married Marcia L. (Cardwell) McGlaughlin on April 1, 2009 in Franklin, IN, she survives.

John was a United States Navy Veteran.

He retired as plant supervisor at Citizens Gas in Indianapolis, IN after 30 years of service.

John enjoyed attending the Indiana Gear Works Campsite in Putnam County, fishing, boating, motorcycles and music.

Survivors include his wife Marcia L. (Cardwell) McGlaughlin of Bargersville, IN, his children Joshua McGlaughlin of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy McGlaughlin (Stephanie) of Indianapolis, IN, Amy Noland (Nathan) of Aiken, SC, Kelli Foltz (Jeremy) of New Port Richey, FL, Jacob McGlaughlin (Angie) of New Port Richey, FL, David McGlaughlin (Amber) of Greenwood, IN, Brandon McGlaughlin (Felicia) of Bargersville, IN and Isabella McGlaughlin (Zach) of Mooresville, IN, twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers Danny McGlaughlin (Lu Ann) of Indianapolis, IN, Pat McGlauglin of Indianapolis, IN, Sean McGlaughlin (Stephanie) of New Port Richey, FL, Josh McGlaughlin of Cloverdale, IN, sisters Sylvia Lines (Larry) of Indianapolis, IN and Stephanie Weddle of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronnie McGlaughlin, Brian Syra and Mike McGlaughlin, sisters Rhonda Farr and Kim McGlaughlin.

Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/johnmcglaughlinjr.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service with military honors conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard at Round Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
