John Joseph Mendenhall, 74, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born September 18, 1948 in Franklin, IN to Harris Gardner Mendenhall and Kathryn (Bostic) Mendenhall.

He enjoyed going to McDonalds with his brother.  He was a kind and sweet man.

Survivors include his brother Donal "Bud" Mendenhall of Boggstown, IN, nephew Joseph Garden Mendenhall (Robin) of Boggstown, IN, great-nephews Joseph Gardener Mendenhall (Jamie) of Indianapolis, IN and Zachariah Kane Mendenhall of Boggstown, IN, great-nieces Kaden Mendenhall, Aayla Mendenhall, Raely Mendenhall, Maryn Mendenhall and Ambri Mendenhall.

His parents and a brother Paul Lloyd "Billy" Mendenhall and a sister-in-law Shirley Mendenhall preceded him in death.

Reverend Bill Turner will conduct a service on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 12 Noon at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.

An Inurnment graveside service will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 12 Noon at Bethany Cemetery in Marshall, IN.
