John grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from St. Peter Chanel High School. He then attended West Virginia University and received a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. After beginning his career as a Quality Assurance Technician at Herron Testing Laboratories in Cleveland, he returned to school at night and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology from Cleveland State University. He later furthered his education once again and obtained a Master of Quality Management Degree from Loyola University New Orleans. This allowed John to progress in his career moving him into higher-level positions, but always remaining in the field of Quality Management. He worked his way up into Quality Management at several Fortune 500 companies including TRW Navy Power Division, Babcock & Wilcox Aerospace Components Division, Wartsila North America Ship Power Solutions, and Becton Dickinson Medical Device Division. John was a Certified Quality Auditor and Six-Sigma Black Belt through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and an AIAG Certified Lead Examiner of Quality Management Systems.
John's career gave him the opportunity to reside in several cities outside of Cleveland (Evansville, Indiana; Baltimore, Maryland; Attleboro, Massachusetts; Sumter, South Carolina; San Antonio, Texas; Simpsonville, South Carolina; Franklin, Indiana) and travel extensively for both work and leisure. John was proud to have reached American Airlines' Million-Mile Status traveling to over twenty-five countries.
John was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, especially a fan of Ohio State University football, Cleveland Indians baseball, and Cleveland Browns football. But he loved nothing more than being with his family and friends, laughing, and making everyone around him laugh with him. He held a special place in the hearts of everyone that knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
