Jordan-Michael Jerry Popplewell

Jordan-Michael Jerry Popplewell, 34, of Brown County, IN passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born May 26, 1992 in Shelbyville, IN.

Jordan was a 2010 graduate of Brown County High School.

He was a millwright for the Carpenters & Millwright local #1076 in Greenwood since 2019.

Jordan was a member of the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters. He enjoyed fishing, welding, being the best millwright he could be, husband, father, son, and provider to his family.

He married Kayla Renee (Gossett) Popplewell on July 4, 2015 in Franklin, IN, she survives. Also surviving is his three daughters Ellie Mae Popplewell, Emersyn Kae Popplewell and Everleigh Jae Popplewell all of Franklin, IN, his mother Audra Lee (Johnson) Richey (Shawna Richey) of Brown County, IN, his siblings Korbyn Popplewell (Madison) of Brown County, IN, Chandler Popplewell (Keycei) of Brown County, IN, Chysschynn Popplewell of Brown County, IN, Kashlee Shaw of Brown County, IN and Kazlee Shaw of Brown County, IN, his maternal grandparents Carl and Martha (Osborne) Johnson of Brown County, IN, his motherin-law Angela Marie Beck (Asher) of Franklin, IN, many cousins extended family.

He was preceded in death by his two sons Jordan-Michael Jerry Popplewell II and Karter Michael Clifford Popplewell, his father Jerry Clifford Popplewell, sisters Karlee Hurt and Kalee Hurt, and paternal grandparents Curtis and Joyce (Warriner) Popplewell.

Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/jordan-michaeljerrypopplewell.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.
