Joyce Diane Everton, 78, of Greenwood, IN passed away Friday, February 18, 2022.
She was born January 4, 1944 in Charlottesville, Hancock County, Indiana. She was a 1962 graduate of Charlottesville High School.
Ms. Everton had been a receptionist for Eye Specialist of Indiana for ten years. Previously she had been an aircraft maintenance planner of United Airlines in Indianapolis, IN for ten years and a tax clerk of AMAX Coal in Indianapolis, IN.
She attended Emmanuel Church in Stones Crossing, Greenwood, IN.
Family was her priority and especially her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons Todd E. Everton (Angela) of Indianapolis, IN and Kevin C. Everton (Kim) of Moore, South Carolina, five grandchildren Morgan Everton (Michaela), Wyatt Everton, Emily Everton, Anna Grace Everton and Melaina Everton, two great-grandchildren Axel Everton and Jackson Everton, two sisters Judy Hunt (John) of Carthage, IN and Janet Flemming of Greenfield, IN and a brother Jim Moore (Nancy) of Sullivan, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Shadley, her mother Ruth Lavaughn "Bonnie" (Nicholson) Smith, step-mother Helen Shadley and step-father Earl Smith and brother Jimmy Jo Shadley.
A visitation time of gathering and sharing will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 4PM until 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.
A private family inurnment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
